Price Check Detailed Oil Change / Clean
« on: September 23, 2013, 04:14:08 PM »
I am just swamped and wanted to get a price check on an oil change for the buggy BUT I would like the oil pan dropped, inspected for crud (I am going to Seafoam the engine this evening) and re-sealed (I think the gasket has gone bad and has sprung a leak).  I re-seal the valve cover with standard universal gasket maker I am assuming that can be done the same on the oil pan.

After I seafoam the engine I want to bring it (saturday) would be good as I should have a couple hundred miles on it then and get that oil dumped and refreshed.

Should be the most easy oil pan drop you guys have ever done since its right there exposed. lol

If I have to wait specifically on him I guess I\'ll have to.

Rough idea on what this will cost me for the extra stuff I need done with the oil change?  I know oil change runs about $30 usually. So whatever extra to drop the oil pan, inspect and clean as needed and then real seal it back up.  As I said the oil pan and its bolts are directly exposed, so no special knowledge needed. lol

He says in order to inspect the oil pan the skid plate would have to be cut out and rewelded so no sorry this isnot something we would do. But he would cut it out and replace it with a piece of diamond plate or something else you can provide that we can make it removable from here on out.

I took the skid plate off - it was bolted on, not welded.

As long as we can get the oil pan completely off to inspect that will be fine.

I don\'t see there being an issue with the skid plate out of the way.

What am I looking at?  I\'d like to drop off payment this weekend and make the appointment for next week if he is available.
