The old hoopty did a little better than I thought(321 hp/388 tq at the wheels).. didn\'t blow up either which was a nice surprise.
Listen for the infamous quadra-bog..
Can I have my cookie now?
Dope Boy powaahhhh
actually sounds nice man.
Ah yeah! That sounds good. Takes me back to the good old days. 84 Olds was my first car. Many good times in that car.
Sounds nice! Little tuning on the accelerator pump circuit ought to cure the slight bog. What kind of motor - what mods?
^Michael forgot to tell you, we have a new dyno in town!
she\'s more or less stock, off the top of my headd..
I re-ringed and re-bearinged a low mile \'70 Olds toronado motor i found at the old CMC u-pull-it. I had K&P polish the crank, still running the 40 year old rods and pistons.
It\'s running a set of home made mid length headers a dude from the oldsmobile message board built from a couple pairs of full lengths.
Lunati hydraulic cam.. .485 lift I want to say? Performer intake and Quadrajet. I sold the heads off the junkyard motor on ebay, and bought a set of redone heads with stiffer springs, screw in studs, and roller rockers for the same money. :) I was having valvetrain problems with that stuff, so now it\'s back to the stock rocker arms however.
Right now, my best ET is 13.1 @ 103ish.. third gear is slipping pretty hardcore.. Once I get that fixed, I have a compucar nitrous kit I\'d like to play with. :D
Thats awesome for 40 yr old anything! What you gonna do about the tranny? Fix it or replace?
